I am nomadic by nature, but am currently based in Hobart, Tasmania. I work in a number of traditional and digital mediums, and often create multi-modal work that crosses many different disciplines, and tell everyday stories in out-of-ordinary ways.
Through my art practice, I aim to connect the tangible to the intangible; the feeling & thought & concept to the physical world. I find the boundaries between what's real and what's imagined, coming from my roots in philosophical exploration, and cross them through expressionist observationalism, dealing in a number of different styles and subject matter.
I am primarily self-taught in all my disciplines, but have always used skill-building opportunities to grow my craft including expanding into ceramic practice and embroidery. I have been creating since I was very young, and have always looked to the world of art and thought to express my relationship with the world.
As an artist, I follow the fluidity of inspiration as it comes, which often creates non-linear and unpredictable bodies of work. I am multi-passionate, and strongly dedicated to the chaos of creating. I use art to embrace the imperfections that I fear in my everyday life, so if art is about perfection to detail or exactness it is not longer my escape and it no longer makes sense to me as art but just becomes as life.
